Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or fluid power training preferred.
  • 2–4 years of related hydraulic repair or shop technician experience; level based on knowledge.
  • Experience repairing or rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, or power units preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, assemble, and test hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, and power units.
  • Evaluate condition, diagnose failures, identify parts, prepare labor estimates, and complete repairs timely.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, work orders, manuals, and diagrams to support diagnosis and repair.
  • Disassemble, clean, measure, inspect, and reassemble components with appropriate tools and gauges.
  • Perform functional, pressure, and leak testing; ensure safe operation before returning to service.
  • Document work performed, parts used, findings, results, and recommendations per procedures.
  • Maintain tools, workspace, and inventory; support field service and on-site repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and operations to ensure timely repair and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow safety, lockout/tagout, PPE, and handling procedures for hydraulic fluids and components.
  • Share hydraulic knowledge and provide informal guidance to coworkers as appropriate.
  • Provide professional responses to customer requests and maintain positive service attitude.
  • A Level III may mentor less experienced team members on standard practices.
