Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Hydraulic Modeling and Testing Intern for Summer 2027 in Holden, MA. You will work on CFD and physical model studies, collect data, and participate in testing of hydraulic models and components to tackle real-world water and infrastructure challenges.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with hands-on interest and some project or internship experience.

Qualifications

• Coursework focused on Civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Relative college research or projects.
• Desire for hands on work.
• Basic construction and machining skills are a plus.
• Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CFD and physical model studies related to sediment transport, pump station hydraulics, water supply, treatment facilities, spillways and other civil hydraulic structures.
• Conduct a variety of testing using physical models or 1:1 component test loops.
• Collect data including flow velocities, turbidity, suspended sediment concentration, dynamic and static pressure, and temperature.
• Conduct engineering calculations, model component design, operation and testing of the model, and data acquisition and analysis.
