Job summary

Verdantas seeks a Hydraulic Modeling and Testing Intern to join our Holden, MA team for the Summer of 2027. You will work on hydraulic models and testing setups, gaining hands-on experience in CFD, physical modeling, and data analysis under supervision of senior engineers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and have a passion for applying engineering principles to sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Coursework focused on Civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CFD and physical model studies related to sediment transport, pump station hydraulics, water supply, and treatment facilities, spillways, and other civil hydraulic structures.
• Conduct a variety of testing using physical models or 1:1 component test loops.
• Collect data including flow velocities, turbidity, suspended sediment concentration, dynamic and static pressure, and temperature.
• Conduct engineering calculations, model component design, operation and testing of the model, and data acquisition and analysis.
