Job summary

Impact Recruitment is partnering with a well-established civil engineering firm in Cary, NC to recruit a Professional Engineer for a Project Engineer role within the Utilities (Water/Wastewater) practice. You will develop, calibrate, and analyze hydraulic models for water distribution and wastewater collections, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve system performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical engineering or related field; 4+ years experience; Licensed Professional Engineer or able to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software including WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, SewerCAD, and PCSWMM.
• Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D; strong Excel data analysis.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Willingness to mentor and lead staff; experience with planning, scheduling, tracking milestones and budget.
• Experience with R or Python; BioWin preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain hydraulic models for water and sewer systems.
• Analyze model results and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Support project teams with system assessments and design solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients.
