Job summary

Federal Signal Corporation is seeking a skilled mechanical assembler for the Stripe Hog Waterblasting System. The role requires reading diagrams, measuring parts for tight fits, and assembling components to spec in a shop environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, hydraulic systems knowledge, and proficiency with power and air tools. You will work Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in a full-time, on-site position. Background check and drug screen required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent; vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years as Medium/Heavy Truck Mechanic or Heavy Equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic motors, valves and cylinders rebuilding.
  • Skilled with power and air tools.
  • Must have own tools and be comfortable using shop tools for assemblies.
  • Self-disciplined, highly organized and detail oriented in a fast-paced shop.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.

Job description

  • Follow instructions given by the Hydraulic Lead and follow production orders to assemble the Stripe Hog ® Waterblasting System
  • Read illustrations, diagrams or schematics to determine how to assemble components.
  • Measure and mark dimensions of parts to ensure a tight fit and a quality product.
  • Adjust, repair, re-work parts and assemblies to ensure proper operation.

  • Follow all company regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned my team lead and or production supervisor
Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent. Vocational/Trade School mechanic training or certification preferred.

  • Must possess the ability to multitask with a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be fluent in English, ability to speak other languages a plus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

this is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. However, this schedule may vary based on the needs of the shop and as assigned by the production supervisor which will change as required based on job duties demand.
