Location: Williston, ND 58802. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: High School. Travel Percentage: None. Job Shift: Day.

Summary of Position

This position is a hybrid between Hydraulic Hose Technician and Counter Associate. The role involves receiving inbound phone calls and walk‑in customer inquiries, documenting accounts, and submitting orders professionally. It requires working independently with limited or no supervision, a solid understanding of basic computer tasks, and strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate will diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and support shop processes, delivering high‑standard, time‑sensitive work. Ideal applicants may have prior experience as a Parts Specialist or at a parts counter.

Pay

Hourly – Based on Experience.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist telephone and walk‑in customers.
  • Understand and utilize catalog to assist customers in part selection.
  • Initiate customer orders and counter orders through ERP.
  • Process cash, credit, and check payments.
  • Support Hose Technicians as needed to fulfill orders.
  • Perform various inventory control tasks, including paperwork and computer‑driven transactions.
  • Identify customer needs and meet or exceed monthly customer experience goals.
  • Navigate through multiple computer programs with speed and accuracy.
  • Work with customers to resolve all inquiries.
  • Display a good work ethic and maintain professionalism in the workplace.
  • Perform any other assigned proprietary duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must type >50 WPM (typing test upon onsite interview).
  • Compassionate and patient customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting – 100% daily.
  • Assist in lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 lbs. in adherence with Midwest Hose Safety Standards.

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands typical in a warehouse environment, including grasping and fine manipulations with hands, reaching, squatting, climbing, working around moving machinery, exposure to temperature and humidity changes, dust, and fumes.
  • Commitment to work additional hours as needed.
  • Inspect and diagnose overall condition of machines.
  • Run hydraulics shop effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide maintenance on hydraulic systems.
  • Select and use proper tools and equipment for each task.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic systems.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Customer service experience (highly preferred but not required).
  • Prior hose & fitting experience (required).
  • Forklift experience (preferred but not required).
  • Additional power equipment experience (preferred but not required).
