Job summary

Blanchard Machinery Company is seeking a Hydraulic Hose Technician to fabricate, assemble, and repair hydraulic hoses and systems, with a solid understanding of hydraulics and safety standards. You will measure, cut, crimp hoses, install fittings, test for leaks, inspect for damage, and perform preventive maintenance while maintaining records and following safety procedures.

Some on-site service may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; hydraulics cert preferred.
• 6–12 months experience as Hydraulic Hose Technician or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics.
• Proficient with crimping machines, measuring tools, and hand/power tools.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork.
• Good communication and customer service skills; valid SC DL for mobile roles.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate hydraulic hoses per specifications (measure, cut, crimp).
• Assemble and install hose fittings with leak-free connections.
• Inspect and repair damaged hoses and lines; determine necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic hose and fitting issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on hose assemblies.
• Maintain records of inventory, repairs, and installations.
• Ensure safety regulations and procedures are followed.
• May perform on-site service at client locations.

Overview

The Hydraulic Hose Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing hydraulic hoses and systems. The Hydraulic Hose Technician will have a strong understanding of hydraulic principles, hose specifications, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.

• Fabricate hydraulic hoses according to specifications, including measuring, cutting, and crimping hoses.
• Assemble and install hose fittings, ensuring proper connections and leak-free operation.
• Inspect and repair damaged hydraulic hoses and lines, determining the extent of the damage and the necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic system issues related to hoses and fittings.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic hose assemblies.
• Identify hose specifications and select appropriate hoses and fittings for various applications.
• Conduct pressure testing of hose assemblies to ensure integrity and safety.
• Maintain accurate records of hose inventory, repairs, and installations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• May involve some on-site service and repair work at client locations.
• other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.Vocational training or certification in hydraulics is preferred.
• 6 months to 1 years of proven experience as a Hydraulic Hose Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including crimping machines and measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills (if applicable for field service).
• Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license with less than three moving violations in the past three years required for mobile positions.
• Welding experience may be beneficial in some roles.

Working Conditions:

• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
• Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
• Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
