Job summary

Torch Technologies in Huntsville, Alabama, seeks a Mechanical Fluids Design Engineer with a strong background in hydraulics and controls to support ACE TD programs. You will design MIL-STD compliant systems from concept through fabrication, using SolidWorks, CAD tools, and rigorous analyses.

Responsibilities include hydraulic system design, piping, tolerances, and test verification, with close collaboration across engineers, technicians, and government customers in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of related experience in mechanical/fluids design.
• Active SECRET security clearance required.
• Experience with fluid systems design and CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient, cost-effective mechanical designs using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Design hydraulic fluid systems with valves, manifolds, regulators, filters, and pumps per ASME standards.
• Design tubing/piping routing, fittings, bend requirements, and supports.
• Create FE/thermal/CFD analyses and generate engineering reports.
• Produce Level III technical data packages and support production/test activities.
