An international consulting firm is seeking a qualified Hydraulic Engineer to develop and calibrate hydraulic numerical models. This role requires a master's degree in Civil Engineering, with 5-10 years of experience in hydraulic design and modeling. Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and fluency in English is essential, while knowledge of German and the willingness to travel internationally are advantageous. • Proficient in standard hydraulic modelling software.
• Experience in preparing project studies and tender documents.
• Strong knowledge of open-channel hydraulics, pressure-flow systems, and sediment transport.
• Experience preparing project studies and tender documents for new construction and plant refurbishment.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail; able to work in multicultural teams; strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English; German or other languages are a plus.
• Willing to travel internationally.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and calibrate 1D/2D hydraulic numerical models.
• Perform CFD analysis of hydraulic structures.
• Lead in designing energy dissipation structures.
• Analyze unsteady flow phenomena in high-pressure conduits using specialized software.
• Prepare technical documentation: hydraulic calculations, design reports, rating curves, and tender specifications.
• Coordinate and interpret physical hydraulic model tests, planning, instrumentation, and validation against numerical results.
• Conduct sedimentation studies: assess reservoir sedimentation and develop sediment management strategies.

What you can achieve with us:

• You are responsible to develop and calibrate 1D/2D hydraulic numerical models for river hydraulics, flood routing, and reservoir operations
• You perform CFD analysis of hydraulic structures such as spillways, stilling basins, intakes, and power waterways
• You take the lead in designing and optimizing energy dissipation structures and assessing free-surface and pressure-flow regimes
• You analyze unsteady flow phenomena in high-pressure conduits using specialized software
• Preparing technical documentation lies in your hand: hydraulic calculations, design reports, rating curves, and specifications for tenders and procurement
• You coordinate and interpret physical hydraulic model tests, including planning, instrumentation, and validation against numerical results
• Conducting sedimentation studies is also part of your remit. This includes assessing sedimentation in reservoirs, developing sediment management strategies and evaluating sediment transport in waterways

What convinces us:

• You hold a degree in Civil Engineering (master’s degree or higher) or a related field with a strong background and expertise in hydraulic engineering
• You have at least 5 to 10 years of professional experience in hydraulic design and modelling for hydropower or water infrastructure projects, overseas assignments are a plus
• You are proficient in standard hydraulic modelling software and CFD tools, coding skills are an advantage
• You have strong knowledge of open-channel hydraulics, pressure-flow systems, and sediment transport. You are also familiar with transient analysis and physical model testing
• Experience in preparing project studies and tender documents for new construction and plant refurbishment complements your professional profile
• You bring an analytical mindset with attention to detail and excel in multicultural, interdisciplinary teams, and strong communication skills
• You speak fluently English, both written and spoken; German and other foreign languages are an advantage
• You are willing to travel internationally
