Job description

We are looking to hire an innovative Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our standard thrusters, US product group team at Kongsberg Maritime Finland OY.

As a Hydraulic Design Engineer, your main duties include designing and maintaining new and existing thruster units. Most design work is done in close collaboration with our product management team and other stakeholders. We seek a creative problem solver with good communication skills to design new solutions and develop existing ones.

Responsibilities

• Design hydraulic solutions and products as part of our engineering team
• Develop and maintain existing products
• Provide technical support within the engineering team and other internal functions
• Prepare technical documentation

Qualifications and experience

• Proficiency in verbal and written English
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical or hydraulic engineering)
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, hydraulic schemes, and symbols
• Experience with 2D and 3D design tools (NX preferred) and AutoCAD

Candidate profile

• Proactive with the ability to work independently
• Methodical and systematic, capable of planning and setting priorities
• Clear, precise, and structured communicator
