Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Senior Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic Design Engineer to support reactor core thermal hydraulic activities, including heat removal from reactor fuel and coolant flow analysis under normal and accident conditions. This role can be remote or hybrid based in Cranberry, PA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in training and obtain qualifications in Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic Design
  • Perform analyses to support safe plant operation, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory criteria
  • Provide technical leadership on complex issues, redesigns, and model development
  • Support projects related to new fuel products, plant design, and safety improvements
  • Consult with technical panels, regulators, and partners on thermal hydraulic topics
  • Assist in code, procedure, and method development updates
  • Enhance automation for analysis and documentation using programming skills
  • Mentor and train less experienced engineers and customers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-7 years of engineering experience
  • Experience with reactor core thermal hydraulics and familiarity with subchannel codes
  • Ability to lead meetings and deliver presentations
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is advantageous
