Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Associate Attorney to join its established insurance-defense practice. The role is hybrid with multiple Southeast locations and a base salary of $100,000–$165,000 plus a 1,800-hour billable requirement.

You will represent employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters, manage claims from referral through resolution, conduct depositions, and assist with hearings and settlements.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in the applicable state.
• Litigation experience strongly valued.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage an active caseload and multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication and client-management skills.
• Interest in developing a long-term workers’ compensation defense practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters.
• Manage claims from initial referral through resolution.
• Conduct depositions.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Review medical records and evaluate causation and damages.
• Develop case strategy and provide recommendations to clients.
• Communicate regularly with carriers, employers, and insured clients.
• Negotiate settlements and assist with trial/hearing preparation.
