Job summary

Fahrenheit Advisors has been retained to assist The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) in their search for a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Richmond, VA. The CFO will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership, reporting to the CEO and partnering with the Board.

The role emphasizes public funding stewardship, finance modernization, and clear exec-level communication, with a focus on governance, risk, and performance measurement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or related fields with senior leadership.
• Experience advising CEOs, executive teams, and boards.
• Strong analytical skills, judgment, and ability to translate complex financial data into executive recommendations.
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and finance transformation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance reporting.
• Strengthen financial reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
• Oversee finance operations and team leadership.
• Communicate financial performance to the Board and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance and governance of financial controls.
