Job summary

Kidsave is seeking a passionate Champion for Change, a hands-on leader who believes every child deserves a loving, permanent family. The Weekend Miracles Virginia Manager will oversee all aspects of the program, working with volunteers, partners, and the national team to connect youth with host families.

You’ll lead operations, family recruitment, partnerships, advocacy, events, and fundraising, with a focus on trauma‑informed care and equity across diverse communities; Virginia residency is

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ work experience, including 5+ in the child welfare system.
• MSW, MSSW or MSSA degree.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel across state.
• Successful completion of a background check required.
• Experience with trauma‑focused child welfare training.
• Experience with Black, Latino, and LGBTQIA communities strongly preferred.
• Grant writing and program evaluation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of Weekend Miracles Virginia.
• Lead and supervise regional staff, coordinators, and volunteers.
• Organize and oversee monthly “Meet the Kids” connection events for youth and host families.
• Manage youth referrals and matches, including Connection Meetings.
• Ensure trauma‑informed, youth‑centered relationship‑building between youth and host families.
• Track and support host family relationships.
• Manage individual youth advocacy efforts, including youth and family stories and photography.
• Improve family/youth matching outcomes.
