Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Claims Examiner for Workers' Comp in Columbia, MD with a hybrid work arrangement. The role involves independently managing WC claims from intake to resolution, coordinating with TPAs, attorneys, and providers, and ensuring timely, compliant handling of each file.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years WC experience, a Bachelor's degree preferred, and strong organizational and communication skills. A $4,000 annual bonus is possible beyond base pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; strong organizational skills.
• Minimum 3 years of Workers’ Compensation experience.
• Legal experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Brings pending and new WC claims to resolution.
• Participates in calls with TPAs, providers, attorneys and Maxim teams to execute claim plans.
• Monitors TPA files and ensures legal deadlines are met.
• Maintains the WC Department Legal Calendar and supports depositions/mediation.
• Reviews financial aspects of assigned claims and educates branches on WC.
