Job summary

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Water/Wastewater Transmission and Utilities Project Manager in our Dallas, Texas office. You will lead projects through study, design, and construction for pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, and utility infrastructure, while maintaining client communications.

You will supervise PEs and staff, perform complex studies, coordinate schedules and budgets, review shop drawings, and ensure quality across deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
• 6+ years designing water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, pipelines.
• Experience managing projects through study, design and construction phases.
• Experience leading technical staff and reviewing engineering work for quality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary client contact and keep clients informed on project status, schedule, and key decisions.
• Manage projects through study, design, and construction phases for pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, and utility work.
• Supervise licensed PEs and other staff, providing direction and supporting professional growth.
• Perform and direct complex studies and investigations and prepare reports of findings.
• Coordinate project phases to align scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Review calculations, seal drawings, and maintain continuity and quality across deliverables.
• Direct assignments, schedule work, and provide technical oversight to engineers, technicians, designers, drafters, and field representatives.
• Advise construction teams on questions during construction and communicate with agencies, vendors, contractors, and partner firms.
