Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants in the United States seeks a Project Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to work on urban stormwater management, green infrastructure, and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses across NC offices (Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Wilmington) and nearby states. The role involves regulatory support, field work, and client interactions.

The position offers a Hybrid schedule, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities to contribute to environmentally significant projects,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, agricultural, biological, biosystems engineering, natural resources or related science with emphasis on water resources.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• Professional registration or ability to obtain within one year (PE, PG, CPESC, CPSWG).
• At least 7 years of research or related experience or equivalent.
• Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, ArcGIS.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel to client facilities.

Responsibilities

• Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
• Developing green infrastructure solutions for urban environments.
• Applying hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software from 1-D to 3-D.
• Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs.
• In-stream and urban stormwater water quality monitoring and modeling.
• Field investigations and construction support services.
• Developing construction documents with drawings and specs.
• Preparing erosion and sediment control designs.
• Interacting with client representatives and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Managing multiple concurrent project assignments and contributing to business development.
