Job summary

Georgia's Own Credit Union is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee accounting functions, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate regulatory reporting. You will work with the CFO and finance team to guide month-, quarter-, and year-end closes and strengthen internal controls.

This full-time, hybrid position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting with CPA or MBA preferred, at least 10 years in accounting and 7 in management, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience required, with at least 7 years in a management or leadership role.
• Experience in financial reporting, accounting operations, profitability reporting, and budgeting preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Excellent problem solving and leadership skills are required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions ensuring accuracy of GAAP/regulatory reporting.
• Manage and coordinate accounting department operations and review processes.
• Lead and motivate the accounting team and conduct annual evaluations for direct reports.
• Assist with annual budgeting and budget variance research.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory exams; ensure compliance.
• Oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities and internal controls.
