Job summary

Wake County Public School System is looking for an Instructional Support Technician to manage and support Unified Communication systems. The role focuses on telecommunications and will assist district end users while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

This position offers a hybrid work week schedule and operates in a professional office environment, alongside working directly with school system staff, students, and the community.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of communications wiring standards and installation practices.
• Extensive knowledge of hosted Cisco Voiceover IP (VOIP) system.
• Considerable knowledge of telecommunications nomenclature and common terms.
• Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of the use and operation of various test equipment and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Designs, installs, configures, tests, manages, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots Unified Communication systems.
• Assists district end users and inspects work performed by hosted service provider staff.
• Builds, configures, installs, monitors, and supports the Voice over IP Telecommunications System.
