Illinois International is seeking a Visiting Associate Director Hospital Technical Assistance to lead rural hospital transformation under the Rural Health Transformation program. The role operates within the Office of Medicaid Innovation in Chicago, providing expert guidance on service line redesign, financial sustainability, and value-based care alignment.

The position requires 7+ years in hospital operations or transformation, a relevant Bachelor’s degree, and collaboration with state agencies

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in hospital operations, healthcare consulting, or healthcare transformation initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree requirement above.
• Experience collaborating with hospitals or health systems on operational, clinical, or financial improvements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in rural hospital operations, care delivery, and system transformation.
• Provide strategic guidance to rural hospitals in developing and implementing transformation plans.
• Advise on service line redesign and alignment with community needs and outpatient delivery.
• Support financial sustainability strategies including cost optimization and revenue diversification.
• Provide expertise on value-based payment models and alignment with alternative payment methodologies.
• Deliver high-level technical assistance to hospital leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with hospital executives to identify gaps in care delivery and operational efficiency, and propose solutions.
