Job summary

Ashfield Healthcare, LLC in the United States is seeking a field-based pharmaceutical sales professional to drive demand and expand access for Rare Disease products. You will work with client field counterparts, deepen product knowledge, and lead conversations with medical professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years pharmaceutical sales experience required within Rare Disease; Pediatric or neurology experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to be in the field 30‑50% and travel overnight.
  • Strong technical acumen with ability to make an impact through multiple marketing channels.
  • Strong clinical aptitude as demonstrated by documented sales results.
  • Ability to join frequent meetings and calls without disruption or disconnecting.
  • Ability to learn scientific information and be able to educate.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client field counterparts to increase share of voice and create demand among targeted healthcare professionals.
  • Develop understanding of products and diseases to lead engaging conversations with medical professionals.
  • Support account management, planning, field coordination, and reporting to enable promotions.
  • Excel when working independently and in team settings.
  • Establish phone presence, build rapport, network, and maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrate clinical and technical skills.
  • Adapt to new therapeutic areas and channels and organizational changes.
  • Leverage networks and tools via phone/web to expand reach across stakeholders.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to create access and demand through programs.
  • Ensure accurate data entry of responses and follow‑ups per client policies.
  • Manage daily sales calls to optimize time and achieve sales and market share objectives.
  • Complete client product training (self-study, testing, field work, site/classroom) to service customers.
  • Create and maintain a positive impression with client and customers.
  • Safeguard patient privacy per HIPAA rules.

What will you be doing?
  • Work alongside client field counterpart(s) to increase share of voice, help open and maintain access, profile, and create demand of targeted healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Develop a sound understanding of the relevant product(s) and disease(s) to lead engaging conversations with medical professionals.
  • Facilitate account management skills (account planning, field resource coordination; close, support customer education and promotion needs, reporting).
  • Demonstrate effectiveness working independently and in team environments.
  • Establish phone presence; commanding and disarming, ability to create rapport, network, build, and maintain productive business relationships.
  • Demonstrate clinical and technical skills.
  • Adhere to new therapeutic areas and channels of business and adapt to organizational change.
  • Leverage and use customer networks, resources and tools via phone/web to expand connectivity, reach and interest across stakeholders.
  • Identify, prioritize and drive opportunities to create access, policy, programs and processes that drive product demand.
  • Verify and complete required data entry including details of the target’s responses, notes and any follow‑through actions in accordance with policies and procedures set by the client.
  • Manage daily sales call activity to optimize time and maximize the achievement of sales and market share objectives.
  • Successfully complete the Client’s product training (self‑study, testing, field work and classroom training at the Client’s site or electronically) and meet training expectations set by the Client in order to proceed to servicing the Client’s customers within the parameters of the program.
  • Create and maintain a positive impression with the Client and the Client’s customers.
  • Must safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality by following the guidelines set forth in the Privacy and Security Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The base pay range for this position is $60,000 – $111,000 per year.

The base pay range for this position is $60K – $111K per year. The final compensation offered to a successful candidate will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
