Job summary

Vox Media is seeking an Assistant Video Editor in New York for a hybrid role in the branded content post-production team. You will edit turnkey social formats, help organize projects for external editors, and grow into larger projects under supervision.

You will collaborate with the Post-Production Supervisor and Creative Directors, using Premiere and Frame.io to deliver on-brand cuts, color tweaks, and sound design basics.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of editing experience in digital, social, or branded content.
• Comfort with templated, turn-key edit formats.
• Familiarity with distribution specs across digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Edit turnkey and templated content for varied platforms including social formats.
• Cut quick-turn social edits independently following templates and house style.
• Tackle larger or more complex edits with supervision, building toward ownership.
• Add basic music and sound design to templated pieces.
• Apply light color and LUTs using house presets.
• Set up and organize projects for external editors with bins, sequences, and file structure.
• Create stringouts for Editors and Creative Directors per project.
• Prepare and organize incoming footage, dailies, and assets for handoff to external editors.
• Support project wrap-out and archiving across in-house and external editor projects.
• Work in Premiere with Team Projects and Productions following SOPs.
• Support turnovers to color and sound mix on larger projects.
• Work across a hybrid workflow, including shipping drives and cloud sync.
