Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking a Senior Video Editor to lead edits for the Shows portfolio, delivering horizontal podcasts and vertical clips for mobile, social and digital audiences. This in-office role in New York, with four days in the office weekly and some remote flexibility, emphasizes multi-camera editing, attention to detail, and autonomous work on complex edits.

You will collaborate with producers, editors and journalists to publish the Shows department's work, shape editing

Qualifications

• 8+ years of multimedia storytelling, video editing and production experience at a major video outlet or production company.
• Must have a strong portfolio of digital work.
• Experience creating original videos that incorporate audio, video, still images, graphics and text.
• Expertise in Adobe Premiere and CS

Responsibilities

• Edit and color-correct Newsroom podcasts across our entire show portfolio, delivering content in both short-form vertical and long-form horizontal format
• Deliver top-notch product under intense deadline pressure, and without the need for direct supervision, continuous editorial guidance, or task management
• Bring a digital first mindset to editing on-platform and for social media
• Edit creatively both for full-length videos and video clips, and in coordination with an audio edit
• Assist in defining style and techniques that give our videos a voice and make them stand out from the pack
• Collaborate on optimizing a post production and archival workflow
• Perform related work as assigned
