Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a CAD-focused engineer to design hardware systems for vehicles. You will create geometric architectures and vehicle CAD models using 3D CAD, CAE, and prototypes across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an automotive product development environment.
• 2+ years of experience designing in Catia, 3DX, NX, SolidWorks or other CAD system.
• Strong proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to use 3D CAD software as a collaborative tool.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop geometrical architectures using 3D CAD, CAE, and prototypes.
• Create vehicle CAD models from attributes toward high-volume manufacturable products.
• Ideate with engineers and teams to create new automotive solutions.
• Problem-solve geometric solutions balancing attributes, concepts, and business case.
• Use a systems design approach to optimize vehicle topology.
