Job summary

ArchKey Solutions LLC in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a VDC Director to lead our VDC/BIM efforts across large commercial construction projects. You will set strategy, manage a growing team, and drive data-driven decisions to deliver exceptional project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years electrical construction experience in BIM, design/build estimating and VDC work with large commercial projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing people.
• Proficient in Autodesk-based modeling/management applications such as Revit, along with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of building construction, costs, systems, and national market conditions; strong knowledge of electrical code and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Establishes strategy and defines processes for VDC activities in business development, marketing, pursuits, and client facing opportunities. Defines VDC recoverability, profitability, and required metrics at various stages of the project lifecycle.
• Directs and supervises activities of each project for quality and accuracy of work, including creating detailed VDC schedules aligned with construction activities.
• Manages all in-house 3D models by the VDC group; owns VDC estimates and budgets for all projects; integrates with project teams.
• Develops BIM execution plans, staffing plans, and maintains leadership as an expert on VDC capabilities; provides problem-solving and process-improvement consulting.
• Oversees deliverables quality, documents, and scope; reports progress with partners and clients throughout the project.
• Creates and manages annual budgets; stays informed of company procedures and policies; trains and maintains policies and processes.
• Builds strategic relationships with customers, foremen, contractors, vendors; aligns with company values and client expectations.
• Provides hiring, mentoring, coaching, problem-solving and training to staff; offers performance feedback regularly.
• Promotes LEAN concepts to ensure efficient operations and continuous improvement.
