Job summary

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is hiring a Term Limited Temporary (TLT) Utility Service Representative in the Development Services Office. The role supports private developers with water, drainage, and wastewater service connections and related processes.

The position is fully benefitted, hybrid in schedule, and expected to last up to 35 months. The ideal candidate combines customer service excellence with data accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of utility infrastructure or related public-facing work experience.
• Equivalency: two years of college coursework may substitute for one year of experience.
• Must possess a current Washington State driver's license for field visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage the DSO customer email inbox and respond to inquiries by phone and email.
• Create and issue accurate invoices for water service sales.
• Access hydrant flow data in SPU’s GIS (Utiliview) system.
• Communicate with supervisor and document customer complaints and escalations.
• Support hydrant permit program by invoicing, permits, meters, and KPI reporting.
• Assist with project intake and documentation for development-related queries.
• Set up hydrant flow test projects and process final results for customers.
• Assist with billing system setup and resolve discrepancies in accounts.
