Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Assistant in San Diego, CA, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role supports underwriters by handling data entry, file clearance, and communications with clients and partners.

Your responsibilities include processing documents, responding to inquiries, and ensuring timely policy handling and compliance within established guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in business-related field preferred.
• Typing 35 wpm minimum; strong written/verbal skills.
• Working knowledge of insurance terminology.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Follow policies and procedures; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customer inquiries during the account life cycle.
• Clearance and setup of electronic files; prequalify risks per underwriting guidelines.
• Generate, edit and send out correspondence on behalf of Underwriters (e.g., declination letters, quotes).
• Respond to client calls and emails; understand products offered.
• Review and issue policies within authority; review and approve tasks.
• Order, review and follow up on inspections as needed; follow up on carrier subjectivities.
• Issue notices and handle mailings; process endorsements and cancellations per guidelines.
