Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis is seeking a Turbomachinery Component Design Engineer - Research and Technology. The role focuses on delivering design solutions for components and assemblies within safe, manufacturable, and robust power systems; you will integrate activities across product systems and ensure on-time delivery of design artefacts.

Hybrid work pattern (3 days onsite on average) with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher with 1+ years hands-on experience in engineering.
• Knowledge across mechanical design methods and cross-disciplinary concepts (aerodynamics, thermodynamics, etc.).
• Ability to apply analytical thinking and make balanced technical decisions.
• Knowledge of product integrity, liability and certification frameworks.
• Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization.

Responsabilités

• Deliver design solutions for turbomachinery components and assemblies with safety, manufacturability, and robustness in mind.
• Provide design definitions to manufacturing, customers, airframers, and partners per policies (Model Based Definition).
• Create automated workflows and use MBd, MBD, and measurement definitions for design optimums.
• Apply Robust Design, Systems Engineering, Risk Management, and Design in Context to ensure right first time outcomes.
• Check design documents for quality and ensure data integrity and traceability.
• Execute sub-system integration using Systems Engineering tools to meet requirements.
