Job summary

AMT in Raleigh, NC seeks a Transportation Engineer with at least 4 years of relevant experience to support highway and transportation projects. You will handle data collection, existing condition analysis, and develop horizontal/vertical alignments, cross sections, superelevation, and traffic plans.

Qualifications include a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) and preferred NC PE licensure; ORD, Microstation, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS skills are a plus. Hybrid schedule with strong benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience.
• North Carolina Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• Experience with roadway transportation projects including cost estimating, specifications and highway plans for construction bid packages.
• Experience with transportation design standards.
• Experience with ORD.
• Prior work with NCDOT; experience with other state DOT's a plus.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of projects including data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis for engineering reports.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, perform cross sections and superelevation design.
• Design roadside features such as barriers and ADA curb ramps; create roadway models and MOT/traffic related plans.
