Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design lines from 69kV to 765kV, perform structure and foundation design, and conduct conductor studies. The role requires ABET-accredited degree, experience, and proficiency with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, with hybrid in-office 3 days/week in the Chattanooga area or TBD.

You'll model lines, review vendor submittals, and develop procurement specs while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Requires degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Related engineering, internship or co-op experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• 1+ year of related transmission line engineering.
• Knowledge of practical engineering principles and design techniques.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV.
• Perform structure and foundation design for poles and lattices.
• Conduct conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Develop cost estimates, schedules and procurement specs.
• Specify transmission line components.
• Model lines in PLS-CADD and calculate sag.
• Review vendor submittals.
