Sargent & Lundy is seeking a transmission line engineer to design lines from 69kV to 765kV, perform structural and foundation analyses, and develop specifications and cost estimates. The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education and at least 3 years in the field.

The position features a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, and may include relocation support based on location.

Qualifications

Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree.
Minimum 3 years of transmission line engineering experience.
Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Experience in design, calculations, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.
Perform foundation designs.
Conduct conductor selection, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
Develop cost estimates and schedules; prepare specs for procurement.
Specify transmission line components.
Model lines in PLS-CADD; determine ROW requirements; calculate sag; develop plan and profile drawings.
Review vendor submittals.
