Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP's Tax Practice is seeking an associate with 3–5 years of transactional tax experience to join its team. The role will involve significant work in fund formation, REITs, joint ventures, private equity, and other M&A transactions.

Ideal candidates will hold an LL.M. in taxation or have substantial tax coursework during their JD. Law firm experience is preferred, state licensure in good standing is required, and the position requires three days a week in the office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of solid transactional tax experience.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Licensed to practice in the state in which you will practice.
• Experience with fund formation, REITs, joint ventures, PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join the transactional tax practice and contribute to fund formation, REITs, and joint ventures.
• Support M&A tax work in private equity transactions.
• Communicate complex tax concepts clearly in writing and verbally.
