Job summary

The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) invites applications for a Training Coordinator in New York City. The role supports the New York City Justice Peer Initiative (JPI) by coordinating peer-led trainings, curricula delivery, and workforce-development activities for Justice Peers.

You will manage scheduling, trainer logistics, participant communications, and post-training evaluations, while developing outreach, partnerships with employers and providers, and

Qualifications

  • Training experience and knowledge of peer recovery principles and NYS certification.
  • Proven track record working with peer specialists.
  • Eligible to become a certified peer specialist within 6 months.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of the criminal legal system and role of peer support.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and belonging in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication across audiences; verbal, written, and presentations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-person Academy of Peer Services trainings and specialty tracks.
  • Deliver JPI curricula including supervision, public speaking, leadership, policy and advocacy.
  • Train at least 75 Justice Peers annually in key skills using peer-led learning.
  • Coordinate training delivery across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Upstate NY and beyond.
  • Manage training registrations, attendance tracking and post-training evaluations.
  • Review feedback and outcomes to improve curricula and experiences.
  • Develop outreach, marketing and communications to recruit trainees.
  • Build partnerships with employers, providers, advocates, agencies and community groups.
  • Maintain JPI listservs and connect trainees with opportunities and resources.
  • Plan and coordinate JPI’s annual conference with program development and logistics.
  • Maintain program records for scheduling, demographics, expenses and reporting.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of activities and progress toward goals.
