Job summary

New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) seeks a Peer Coordinator for the Queens Supervised Release Program. The role provides holistic, person-centered support and mentorship to a team of Peer Specialists, facilitating wellness groups and coordinating referrals within NYC court-based release services.

Ideal candidates have lived experience, CPS/CRPA or WRAP/IPS options, and strong knowledge of recovery-oriented practices, with outreach, data-tracking, and program coordination duties across

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma required.
  • OASAS/OMH Peer Specialist Certification required; CPS/CRPA within 1 year.
  • 3 years of professional experience as a Peer Specialist or similar in behavioral health/criminal justice.
  • Lived experience in recovery and/or criminal justice.
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered, recovery-oriented practices.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with video conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom).
  • WRAP/IPS certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYC Court Operations preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship to a team of Certified Peer Specialists.
  • Assist with coordination and admin duties; act as Peer Supervisor in absence.
  • Conduct internal program chart reviews and track referrals/outcomes.
  • Assist in development and facilitation of groups and trainings.
  • Ensure adherence to QSRP and agency policies.
  • Manage small caseloads with complex needs; provide advocacy and support.
