Job summary

Center for Alternative Sentencing & Employment Services (CASES) seeks a full-time Training Coordinator in New York, NY to deliver JPI’s core training curriculum and support workforce development. You will conduct trainings across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Upstate NY, and Western NY, including overnight engagements when required.

The role requires strong facilitation, organization, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on equitable systems change for Justice Peers.

Qualifications

  • Training experience and knowledge of peer recovery principles, NYS peer certification and specialization tracks.
  • Proven track record of working with peer specialist staff.
  • Eligible to become a certified peer specialist within 6 months of employment.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience and understanding of the criminal legal system (CLS) and the role of peer support within the CLS.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal).
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-person Academy trainings across multiple jurisdictions in NY.
  • Deliver core curricula and trainings on leadership, policy, and advocacy.
  • Train at least 75 Justice Peers per year in key skills.
  • Coordinate delivery of core training programs with hosts and locations.
  • Manage registration, attendance tracking, and post-training evaluations.
  • Review feedback to improve curriculum and outcomes.
  • Develop outreach and communications strategies to recruit trainees.
  • Build partnerships with employers and service providers to expand access.
  • Maintain listservs and communications for trainees and employers.
  • Assist in planning CASES’ annual conference with program development and logistics.
  • Maintain accurate program records and funder reporting data.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of training activities and expenditures.
