Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Traffic & Safety Engineer to join our Orlando, Florida team on a full-time basis. You will perform traffic studies, data analysis, and develop safety improvements for transportation projects, with opportunities to lead signalization and pavement marking design in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

This role supports a hybrid work structure with some remote days. A Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (ABET) and Florida PE (or ability to obtain in 6 months) are required,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Florida Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 6+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with MicroStation.
• Understanding of Highway Capacity and Highway Safety concepts.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork.
• Attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, and interest in improving transportation safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform field reviews, conduct research, and collect and analyze traffic data for transportation projects.
• Analyze crash data and identify countermeasures to improve safety and mobility for all road users.
• Analyze and interpret data from traffic modeling software, GIS, or associated databases.
• Use specialized traffic engineering software to conduct traffic operations and capacity analysis (HCS, Synchro, Sidra, Corsim).
• Prepare signal warrant studies, intersection/corridor/traffic impact studies and support PD&E studies.
• Attend public meetings and community workshops.
• Prepare cost estimates and financial justification for projects via benefit/cost and NPV analysis.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation of study methodologies or design approaches.
• Other tasks as assigned.
