Job summary

AECOM in Des Moines, IA seeks a Traffic/ITS Engineer for a hybrid role across the Greater Midwest and Southwest. You will perform traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, and ITS projects.

You will prepare plans, specifications, reports, and coordinate with teams and clients. PE license is preferred; visa sponsorship is not provided. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $125,000 per year.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience or equivaliy.
• Preference for 5+ years in civil engineering with traffic/ITS focus.
• Registered PE or ability to obtain PE within 6 months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using traffic and traffic simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, simulation, and planning.
• Prepare plan sheets, specifications, estimates, memos, and reports.
• Lead ITS or emerging technology projects following systems engineering process.
• Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
• Produce technical deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Review work with EIC staff and teams; ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and with clients/sub-consultants.
• Support business development by identifying project opportunities.
