AECOM is seeking a Traffic or ITS Engineer to support a hybrid role across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. You will contribute to traffic analysis, planning, and ITS projects, working with a dynamic team to deliver high-impact transportation solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to budgets and schedules, and coordination with multiple disciplines. A PE license or progress toward one is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE within 6 months is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
• Prepare plan sheets, specs & estimates, technical memoranda, reports and presentations.
• Lead ITS or emerging technology projects following systems engineering processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients/sub-consultants to deliver work on time and within budget.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a well-qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to support a hybrid role in one of many different offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. Responsibilities include:

• Traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
• Plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation
• ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process
• Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects.
• Actively participate in the team’s production of technical deliverables ranging from plans, specifications, estimates, reports, memorandums, etc.
• Work with Early in Career staff and help review technical work and project documentation
• Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards
• Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred minimum 5 years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within Agency and DOT standards and projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE license in 6 months
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using Traffic and Traffic Simulation Software and design platforms.
• Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
• Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.

Additional Information

• This role does not provide Visa Sponsorship.

To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $85000 to $125000.
