Xcel Energy is seeking a Generation Development Engineer – Thermal to provide technical engineering support for new power generation projects using thermal technologies such as simple and combined cycle combustion turbines, natural gas fuel cells, geothermal power, and related technologies.

The role involves development engineering from origination through regulatory approval and may be filled at several levels depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited engineering degree or recognized equivalency.
• 0+ years engineering experience.
• EIT/FE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop layouts and major configuration options for new generation projects.
• Prepare basic technical specifications and scopes of work for studies.
• Support procurement and interconnection planning and performance estimates.
