Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, accounting, or economics.
• Minimum of 3 years of contract surety underwriting or equivalent financial risk role.
• Ability to evaluate financial strength, identify risk indicators, and apply underwriting guidelines.
• Experience leading agency relationships and presenting underwriting decisions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and underwrites contract surety submissions within authority, applying sound judgment.
• Analyzes contractor financial statements, project exposure, and credit reports to assess risk.
• Prepares underwriting positions for referral or review and addresses concerns.
• Leads agency meetings, develops relationships with agency partners, and grows premium.
• Manages agency interactions and gathers market intelligence.
• Solicits feedback on service delivery to strengthen relationships and territory strategy.
• Establishes quarterly and annual production goals with management.
• Leads territory initiatives using data to refine strategies.
