Job summary

Diamond-Line-Delivery-Systems-Inc is seeking a hybrid Driver/Manager based in Roseburg OR or Medford OR, with travel between terminals. The Terminal Manager will oversee daily LTL terminal operations, coordinate staff, safety, customer service, and financial performance, while also performing loading/unloading duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A CDL, a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and proven LTL terminal management expertise.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Proven experience in LTL trucking operations with terminal management
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in using relevant technology and software for terminal operations

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise terminal staff, including drivers, dock workers, and administrative personnel.
• Ensure smooth and efficient terminal operations, including loading, unloading, and freight handling activities.
• Implement operational strategies to meet service goals and performance metrics.
• Establish and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and audits to promote a culture of safety within the terminal.
• Recruit, train, and mentor terminal employees; provide ongoing performance feedback and address performance issues as needed.
• Develop and maintain a strong team by fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and expectations.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
• Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
• Collaborate with dispatchers to plan and optimize delivery routes, considering time, fuel efficiency, and customer requirements.
• Monitor route performance and make adjustments as needed to improve efficiency.
• Implement and oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking and handling of freight.
• Minimize losses and damages through effective inventory management practices.
• Stay informed about changes in industry regulations and ensure terminal compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance terminal efficiency.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to implement new technologies and tools to improve operational processes.
• Maintain open communication channels with corporate offices, other terminals, and external partners.
• Provide regular updates to upper management on terminal performance, challenges, and opportunities.
