Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Technical Design Manager to lead design and development for NYSOH components, ensuring scalable, compliant solutions.

You will oversee Senior Technical Designers and collaborate with architects, PMs, and dev teams to align architecture and delivery across streams. You’ll mentor engineers, drive design standards, and apply AI-supported tooling to improve code quality and performance while meeting business goals in a complex enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of software design/development experience
• 5+ years in a technical leadership or managerial role
• Experience leading technical staff in large-scale enterprise applications

Responsibilities

• Lead design sessions and provide input on requirements, solution options, timelines, risks, and system impacts.
• Design and develop scalable solutions for complex application functionality using Java, Spring, MuleSoft, and DB2.
• Mentor mid-level developers and manage technical staff to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Ensure designs meet quality, security, performance, and architectural standards.
• Stay current with engineering practices and apply AI tools to engineering work.
