Job summary

CoStar Group in Richmond, VA is seeking a Team Lead, Data Transformation to build and lead a new data‑migration and transformation team for enterprise systems. The role is hands‑on, focusing on pipelines, services and integrations, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with partner teams to ensure reliable production delivery.

The team will standardize data across billing platforms and enable improved visibility into data quality, errors, and optimizations for billions in annual payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Proven track record delivering data/engineering outcomes.
• 6+ years in software or data engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong delivery ownership and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Advanced SQL and data modeling with Python/Scala/Java/C#.NET proficiency.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, distributed engines and orchestration tools.
• Design of scalable backend services, APIs and integrations.
• Production reliability ownership, on‑call and incident response.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the data/engineering team with coaching and career development.
• Own end‑to‑end deliverables, scope, and on‑time execution.
• Coordinate with product management and stakeholders on progress and risks.
• Own architecture balancing data platform design with applications.
• Contribute hands‑on to design/implementation of pipelines, services and APIs.
• Ensure production support, monitoring, incident response and reliability.
• Uphold engineering practices, testing, CI/CD, and security standards.
