Job summary

Vector Recruiting LLC is seeking a Tax Senior Manager for a well-established regional CPA firm in the Las Vegas area. The position offers a hybrid in-office and home-based schedule with excellent benefits, including sizable bonuses and a 5% employer 401(k) contribution.

The role involves technical tax reviews, client service, staff development, and leadership in tax examinations. CPA required; knowledge of current tax laws essential; overtime during peak season expected.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
• Two or more years' experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s degree in taxation preferred.
• Current CPA license and membership in good standing with the AICPA is required.
• Overtime is expected, especially during tax season (Jan 1–Apr 15).
• Proficient with tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in discipline or industry.
• Assumes responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates to the staff as needed.
• Manages client service for assigned clients or where delegated by the Partner.
• Delegates and manages governmental tax examinations; may represent clients before tax authorities.
• Develops and mentors staff; assists in recruitment and training.
• Ensures smooth flow of tax returns through the preparation system and timely delivery.
• Ensures accurate billing and collections processes.
• Prepares reports and projects for Partners as needed.
• Researches and evaluates tax software for recommendations.
• Participates in practice development through referrals and industry activities.
