Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer with Splunk experience to support NIWC in Quantico, VA, providing installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems.

The role requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II, Windows and RHEL administration, VMware tasks, and strong cybersecurity practices. This hybrid position may involve travel to customer sites and occasional telework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with Splunk
• 4+ years of hands-on system administration in enterprise environments (Windows, RHEL, VMware)
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II or higher
• Strong cybersecurity principles and log analysis
• Experience with SIEM tools and log monitoring

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, deployment and maintenance of Windows and RHEL enterprise solutions/software
• Monitor and configuration of SIEM tools like Splunk
• Configure and maintain core IT services such as DNS, DHCP, SAN, SQL Databases, Active Directory and Group Policy
• Support VMware environment tasks, including creating and managing virtual machines
• Provision workstation images in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments
• Troubleshoot basic system and application issues, escalating complex problems to senior staff
• Apply security configurations and maintain system logging
• Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups, and perform data recovery operations
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to team discussions on solutions and improvements
