Job summary

Brookline College in Tempe, AZ is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team and shape the next generation of technologists. This role blends theory taught remotely with hands-on lab work on campus to train students effectively.

You will educate and mentor students, design lesson plans, identify at-risk learners, provide advisement, and participate in program development and accreditation processes. A CST credential and teaching OR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Healthcare Provider CPR and Basic Instructor CPR required.
• Associate degree required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• Minimum of 3 of the past 5 years in OR, Teaching or a combination of both.
• If teaching experience is present, must have a minimum of 3 years on the OR at some point in your career.
• Proficiency with computers and the ability to quickly learn new ones.
• Ability to react quickly
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Educate students and provide training in theory and lab settings.
• Design and carry out a lesson plan for each class taught, recognizing student abilities and learning styles.
• Identify and refer students who are at risk of leaving the course to student services and Campus Director.
• Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling.
• Use a variety of evaluation methods (cooperative learning, reports, and teamwork) to support student abilities.
• Provide input and participate in academic committees for program and student-life enrichment.
• Comply with all State, Department of Education, and accreditation regulations.
