Job summary

Integrative Emergency Services, LLC (IES) seeks a certified Medical Coding Specialist with emphasis on surgical services to code professional fees and review documentation. This position ensures accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II code assignment and supports compliant reimbursement.

You will identify coding compliance risks, support clean claims, and collaborate with providers and leadership to improve documentation specificity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years of professional medical coding experience, with strong surgical coding.
• Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA is required.
• Ability to audit and ensure medical necessity and coding compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes for professional surgical services.
• Evaluate medical records for properCoding accuracy, completeness, and medical necessity.
• Ensure coding compliance with CMS and payer guidelines.
• Identify undercoding, overcoding, and unbundling issues and address them.
• Apply modifiers correctly and support clean claim submission to maximize reimbursement.
• Audit coding accuracy via reports and focused reviews, and participate in special projects.
• Stay current on coding updates and regulatory changes; collaborate with providers and leadership.
