Job summary

Smith+Neb in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure supplier quality and compliance across medical device operations. You will partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive quality excellence and patient outcomes.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 3+ years in supplier quality, and proficiency with SAP, Windchill, Power BI, and Six Sigma methodologies. This is a hybrid role with onsite work three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Associates degree in engineering with 5 years of supplier quality engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the global supplier quality strategy and annual performance goals.
• Manage supplier nonconformances through SAP Quality Notifications.
• Apply calibration, CMM equipment, and gauging knowledge to supplier quality activities.
• Lead CAPAs and supplier investigations, field actions, and complaint activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
• Maintain compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and medical device standards.
• Support SCN activities and supplier qualification processes.
• Review and maintain SQAs and SQCs where applicable.
• Participate in external audits including MDSAP, FDA, and other audits.
• Use Lean A3, Six Sigma, and 8D to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Develop project plans, track progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
