Job summary

Danone invites applications for a Summer Internship Experience (SIE) in its Research & Innovation team in Colorado. The 10-week program runs May 31, 2027–August 6, 2027, with a 40-hour work week and a hybrid schedule.

Interns will work on a project, present findings to senior leadership, and receive competitive compensation, housing support, and relocation stipend. Assignments include supporting product development projects, lab experiments, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Food Processing, or related major.
• Proven leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter with initiative to identify opportunities and take action.
• Proficiency with computer applications and using technology as a decision-support tool.
• Ability to plan and lead projects through all phases and manage time effectively.
• Previous internship or work experience preferred.
• Interest in consumer-packaged goods/manufacturing and potential career with Danone after graduation.
• Familiarity with certification programs (e.g., non-GMO, USDA Organic, Kosher, Vegan, Gluten Free) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Leverage scientific expertise and complete projects using research, statistics, and technical reporting.
• Plan, execute, and manage development of prototype products and processes in lab and pilot plant.
• Develop supplier relationships to meet project needs.
• Conduct lab testing and shelf-life studies.
• Use sensory and consumer testing insights to create great-tasting, high-performing products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and QA.
