Job summary

State Farm is seeking a rising 3L Summer Law Intern in Houston, TX, for 2027. The role offers litigation exposure, one-on-one mentoring, and observation of all phases of litigation in a busy civil trial practice. The internship runs 6/2/27–8/11/27, with a hybrid work arrangement and a $33/hour pay rate plus a $2,000 stipend.

The ideal candidate is a 2L with top-half class rank, strong research, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, ready to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a 2L student in an ABA accredited law school and must remain enrolled as a student for the duration of the internship.
• 2L students in the top half of their class
• Strong research skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Expose to litigation and trial practice and work one-on-one with attorneys on assigned projects.
• Observe every phase of litigation and have a designated mentor throughout the internship.
• Hybrid work environment with in-office and remote time; full-time summer schedule from 6/2/27 to 8/11/27.
• Pay is $33 per hour with a $2,000 internship stipend; opportunity for transition to part-time in the 2027/2028 school year.
